Facilitating connections, ensure snow, securing ski areas or diversifying activities… in recent months, all of the teams of the French industrial group MND have remained mobilized despite the health context to meet these key challenges for mountain areas. In total, nearly 100 installations have been commissioned in all mountain areas throughout the world to support the development and contribute to the attractiveness of winter and summer destinations.
Built and delivered during the summer and fall of 2020, two strategic lifts have been delivered for this new winter season in France. The first is at Les Sybelles in the Maurienne region, France’s fourth largest ski area, with the “Gaston Express” detachable six-seater chairlift, and the second is at Vaujany in the Isère region, with the “Clos Giraud” combined lift, which will revitalize the Alpette plateau. These two projects are the result of the alliance between MND and BARTHOLET for cable transportation. They combine the proven technology of detachable lifts, the quality “Made in the Alps” and project management close to the sites. Key elements in the restructuring of the flow of skiers in these two areas, these installations improve the connection between the different areas thanks to faster, more comfortable and reliable links..

MND teams also worked on Chamonix’s iconic Aiguille du Midi cable car, replacing the guides to ensure that visitors are welcomed as soon as it reopens, while the covered carpets at La Féclaz, Flaine and Vars offered dynamism and attractiveness on the snow fronts.

In Asia, MND teams built and delivered a turnkey ski area in Agbulag, Azerbaijan, with the construction of a conveyor belt, chairlift, snowmaking system and safety equipment to allow the discovery of skiing. In China, a gondola lift and a detachable chairlift in the Golden Mountain resort are being built for the state-owned Hebei Tourism Investment Group. In Sweden, a new chairlift is being built in Skuleberget, a local tourist mecca located in the highest part of the Baltic coast.
