LES SYBELLES®, one of the largest ski areas in Europe, and the French group MND, a specialist in high-adrenaline leisure infrastructures, have signed an agreement to create, in the heart of the French Alps, the largest immersive mountain tourism experience ever developed under license from the successful board game TREK 12. This project aims to offer a new way to experience and explore the mountains all year round. An adventure and mountaineering game, TREK 12 will be brought to life on a full scale through 27 sports and recreational installations spread across the LES SYBELLES® mountain area in Maurienne (Savoie).

A specialist in ropeway mobility, snowmaking systems, mountain safety and thrill-based leisure infrastructures, MND has acquired the worldwide license for the internationally acclaimed game TREK 12 in the category of leisure sites and installations. Already behind many iconic projects such as the world’s largest pylon zipline in Chamrousse (France) or the thrill-filled adventure site with multiple aerial courses and a Skywalk over 300 meters above the ground inside the dizzying Canton Tower (China), MND aims to leverage this global license and innovative concept to boost the development of its leisure division and its subsidiary MBS through this new concept of all-season mountain leisure installations.

Attracted by the immersive potential of this tourism experience, the LES SYBELLES® mountain area has acquired from MND the exclusive license for this new concept.

LES SYBELLES® and MND are therefore working together to build this innovative new tourism offer.

A MOUNTAIN-THEMED GAME LINKING 27 FUN INSTALLATIONS

Cette n This new immersive tourism experience will feature a unique theme across the 27 installations and a playful connection between all the activities. NATURE, FUN, SPORT and THRILL are the four words that best define the experience awaiting participants at LES SYBELLES®. MND’s teams will begin construction of the installations starting in summer 2026, to be completed in 2027, with the following in the pipeline: a mountain fitness trail, a pedestrian path, two playgrounds (for sports and for children), a Zen platform, a sensory trail, an educational trail, a chill zone, a fun trail, three themed zones (winter, summer, and family), an animal trail, panoramic activities and trails, a panoramic viewpoint/skywalk, a giant swing, three zip lines including one giant, and a breathtaking amphitheater – with many more surprises to come. Some of these installations will be designed and manufactured by MBS, a subsidiary of MND based in Tours-en-Savoie, specializing in the creation of outdoor, recreational, and sports activity areas.

The majority of the installations will be built in wood or from bio-sourced materials, ensuring sustainable construction using timber mainly sourced from French forests.

With this new all-season project, MND and LES SYBELLES® reaffirm their commitment to sustainable and balanced tourism development. Through local sourcing and manufacturing carried out in the French Alps by a local workforce, the initiative supports the regional economy while minimizing its environmental footprint. The project is designed across a large area of the LES SYBELLES® domain, allowing full immersion in the natural surroundings by building on existing infrastructure – hiking trails, mountain biking tracks, snowshoeing routes – and embracing a landscape- and ecosystem-friendly approach. The experience will blend fun activities, walks, and contemplative spaces – an invitation to (re)discover LES SYBELLES® differently, in every season.

AN APP TO UNLOCK THE FULL GAME EXPERIENCE

While TREK 12 can be played with just paper and pencil, a dedicated mobile application for iOS and Android will enhance players’ immersion. QR codes placed on the various installations will unlock additional game content on the app, in sync with the player’s real progress on-site. The aim is to connect the mobile app with the physical installations at LES SYBELLES® and the original board game.

TREK 12 TO BE CUSTOMIZED AND SOLD IN A SPECIAL LES SYBELLES® EDITION

The creators of the game will publish a special edition of the game for LES SYBELLES® (featuring the famous Aiguilles d’Arves on the cover), with the rules adapted to match the full-scale installations developed on the mountain domain. Available for purchase in the LES SYBELLES® resorts, the game will give holidaymakers a fun souvenir of their stay, letting them relive the experience they enjoyed in the mountains and remember the special moments spent with family or friends. The game will be accessible from age 6 and up.
