To cross the Penfeld and connect the new Capuchin quarter with the city and the tramway, cable transport is the perfect solution. In an environment where the crossing of the Penfeld is constrained by the existing buildings, it was necessary to innovate to make this urban mobility project possible. This was done with a technology called leapfrog technology, which sees the two cabins, Charlotte and Lewin, pass over each other to reduce the stations’ footprint (a world first), with cabins with a design reminiscent of the marine character of the city, with windows of varying opacity during the journey… More than just an urban link, Brest’s cable car has become a real tourist attraction in just a few months.
More about urbanProject that was carried out as part of the partnership with the Bartholet Maschinenbau AG company.
