In order to protect the 65 kilometres of hydroelectric lines that connect the city of Juneau, the capital of Alaska, to the dam that supplies it with power during the harsh winters, Alaska Electric Light & Power used the DaisyBell™ helicopter-borne solution to save time, due to the very short days, and long-term financial investments. MND has trained local agents on the use of this remote avalanche triggering system, which has produced satisfactory results after two full winter seasons.
