The protection of one of the largest ski areas at the foot of Mont-Blanc
ROADS & RAILWAYS
In Chamonix, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc (CMB), manages more than a hundred ski slopes and more than 2000 metres of difference in altitude in the various ski areas which require special attention to guarantee the safety of both visitors and operating personnel.
For nearly 25 years, MND has been supporting the CMB with the regular installation of remote avalanche release systems in the context of the various extensions of its domain with a mixed approach integrating:
the installation of 67 fixed Gazex™/Gazflex™ gas releases and 6 removable O’BellX™ gas systems over the years.
the sustained use of the DaisyBell™ since the 2009/2010 winter season with the Compagnie Hélicoptère du Mont-Blanc (CMBH), which has increased the number of shots fired by means of this mobile gas system, which optimises triggering results.
