Avawatch brings a whole new dimension to triggering avalanches.
When triggering an avalanche from a distance, operators need to ensure that the planned outcome has been achieved and thereby guarantee that there is no danger for the slope, road or protected facility.
An autonomous seismic sensor located further down the avalanche chute than the exploder records the avalanche activity and, following the blast, lets operators know whether the avalanche has actually happened before modelling its power.
We have developed an algorithm that analyses the signals received to confirm that the avalanche
has been triggered and estimate its power.
➔ Confirmation that the avalanche has been triggered (yes/no)
➔ Power indication (from 1 to 5)
