At the request of the Swedish National Transport Administration, Trafikverket, MND carried out the avalanche study and the implementation of risk prevention systems to protect the railway line linking Kiruna to the Norwegian port of Narvik. A rare railway line beyond the Arctic Circle, the track connects the two countries by crossing the mountains and includes sections that are highly impacted by avalanche risk.
With a turnkey response and proven systems for the most extreme conditions, MND has installed 14 Gazex™/Gazflex™ and is providing spare parts support until 2021.
